As a queer woman of color, representation is something that has been a guiding force in the works Sophia has created and collaborated on. She believes that post and production go together like peanut butter and jelly (don’t hand her one, though, because she’s allergic to nuts!) As she sees it, a story is given breath on set, and a heartbeat in post; it is ultimately brought to life because of the creative, collaborative brains at work behind the scenes. Most of her childhood was spent in auditoriums working on theatrical plays in both the technical and acting realms, where her love of production was born. Her type-A, Capricorn demeanor may make it seem like she is “supa serious”, but hang around for a bit and you’ll hear her hearty dolphin giggle from three doors over. When she isn’t discussing film or marketing, she loves attending live theatre, watching the WNBA, collecting micro-beanies, and eating cherry Jolly Ranchers.
